About Us

At Landigo we believe that gardens provide a vital surrounding to relax and recharge. Together our team design and build the very best outdoor spaces across Cheshire and the Northwest.

It is well known that gardens and outdoor living spaces play an important role in people’s lives and their well-being. A good design and build can provide the opportunity to relax and recharge along with physical and social interaction. This is why each bespoke design and build is executed to the highest standards to create the space you deserve.

We have in house expertise in both the design and technical specification, and we also work with award winning designers to build and realise their creative visions for their clients. Landigo offer a full design and build service across Cheshire and the Northwest.

The Founders

Jason Hinks

Jason is a master craftsman and landscape gardener with over 30 years experience in horticulture. As a director at Landigo he is making that knowledge work for his clients, employees, and the many projects he gets asked to contribute to at RHS shows and the like.

In the early 90’s Jason entered the world of horticulture as a nurseryman and quickly progressed to estate work, education, corporate and domestic engagements, training, mentoring, and delivering everything from domestic gardens to industrial horticulture, to Chelsea show gardens. He delivered this success through his own landscape company for 15 years before returning to education to expand his skills, train, and mentor others, and then returned to the industry front line by setting up Landigo with Calum Fraser in 2019.

Significant landmarks along the way include:

  • National Diploma in Landscape Construction
  • Foundation degree in Landscape Architecture
  • National Diploma in Landscape Construction at Merrist Wood College
  • NPTC competency qualifications
  • City & Guilds Gardening
  • Chelsea 1995 – ‘A Taste of the Orient’ show garden
  • Taught landscape construction for 5 years at Reaseheath College
  • Mentored students through the WorldSkills programme culminating in a silver award for one of them, the 2nd highest accolade in the World
  • 5 successful Show Gardens at the RHS Tatton Flower Show winning numerous Silver Gilt and Gold medals
  • 3 gardens at Trentham Gardens
  • 100% satisfied Landigo clients!

Each project is meticulously built to the highest standards because Jason is responsible for the delivery and the training of all staff to ensure they meet the requirements of their clients.

Outside of work Jason enjoys spending time with his family, country walks, and music. Jason is also a keen collector of Japanese motorcycles, much to his partners amused frustration.

Calum Fraser

Calum’s passion for horticulture began with a successful apprenticeship with Reaseheath college. This led to prestigious positions with high end landscape companies where Calum further developed his knowledge, skills and eye for detail. He went on to continue his training and to gain an array of NPORS certificates, industry qualifications for the safe and competent use of equipment and machinery. Calum is now responsible for the safety and competence of all our sites.

In 2015, Calum had the opportunity to be part of the show build team creating the ‘Light Catcher’ garden designed by Sharon Hockenhull at RHS Tatton Flower Show. The garden went on to be awarded a gold medal and best in category. In 2017 Calum had another opportunity to be part of the Chengdu Silk Road Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show which was awarded Silver Gilt. It is this expertise that Calum brings to Landigo to ensure the highest quality and finishes on all our builds.

Our Process

Engaging a landscape company can be difficult, where do you start and how do you know you will be getting quality and a professional service? Let us show you our proven process.

Consultation

From the moment you contact us, we will listen and use our expertise to guide you. We have a consultation process designed to find out more about your project and what is required. Whether it’s our in-house design service or a quotation for a particular element in your garden, you decide and tell us what you want.

Site Survey

We will arrange to take all the necessary measurements needed to be able to begin the design process and provide a quotation for you. This will include a linear survey, photographs, topographically survey and details of existing features including any TPO’s, noted conservation requirements and planning.

Design

If you decide that you want your garden designed, we will introduce you to our in-house designer. They will guide you through the design process step by step to make sure the design is right for you. Their many years of experience include award winning gardens at RHS Flower shows which will help you create a beautiful and bespoke outdoor space that is tailored to you.

Quote

We supply full written specifications with all our quotations. This gives you confidence that our installations meet and exceed industry standards and provides a bench mark for comparison. All specifications are tailored to your project and as an APL member give you assurance that they meet requirements. All quotations are itemised and include technical drawings where required.

Engagement

Once you are happy with your design and quotation and ready to say yes, we will discuss the next stage and allocate a start date for your project. Please check out our testimonials and the wonderful comments our clients have to say, we think it speaks for itself.

Build

Throughout the build process we maintain a clean and safe working environment. A dedicated team member on every site is assigned the task of ensuring the site is opened and shut down every day including tool and material storage and waste management. It is our philosophy that we treat our clients as we would like to be treated. We minimise any inconvenience where possible. Regular meetings with you give you a voice, and us feedback to ensure we deliver as you would expect.

Aftercare

Each build is documented with a full list of suppliers and products used including any guarantees for products. This helps should you want to extend, or match materials in future developments or have any faults with equipment etc. All our installations come with a maintenance guide with recommendations on how to look after your garden and how often to keep it in tip top condition. Should there be any issues, or you simply want advice, we encourage you to contact us so that we can help. Whilst we don’t offer a maintenance service such as regular mowing or hedge cutting, we do offer a bespoke service to maintain.
